We seldom get a snow this late in the spring but it can happen. Usually a snow this time of year is just flurries – a dusting, but this one has potential. We may get several inches and it is a heavy wet snow! I remember some flurries about 25 years ago…it flurried eighteen inches. That snow hung around a while.
This snow will help fix much needed nitrogen in the soil and we have high levels of groundwater here this spring – in fact this may overflow the ponds – and I am predicting a stellar growing season in spite of the warming trend. Last year at this time I had early beans in the ground just as a point of reference.
